The Lutheran World Federation/Department for World Service-Jerusalem (LWF-Jerusalem) is a program of the Lutheran World Federation, which has its headquarters in Geneva.

The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is a global communion of Christian churches in the Lutheran tradition.  Founded in 1947 in Lund, Sweden, the LWF now has 140 member churches in 78 countries representing more than 66 million Christians.

As a branch of the Department for World Service, LWF-Jerusalem works to serve the humanitarian needs of the poor and marginalized, following the example of Jesus Christ.

LWF-Jerusalem focuses on:

  • Emergency assistance through development, advocacy, peace and reconciliation initiatives, and disaster relief;
  • Service to refugees, those living in poverty, and the marginalized; and
  • Ecumenical partnerships (LWF is a member of Action by Churches Together)
